Counsellors and Psychotherapists are professionally trained to listen. This is very different to talking things over with a friend, relative, or someone who may have their own problems and issues, and not be able to separate what you are saying from their own worries.
In a counselling or therapy session, I will listen to what you are saying, in confidence and without judging you, and not tell you about what is going on in my life, or give you unhelpful advice.
A counselling/therapy session is for you to explore how you feel and think about yourself.
You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, bereavement, physical and/or sexual abuse, low self esteem, lack of confidence and problems forming or maintaining relationships.
I can offer you skilled and experienced support to work through these and other issues at your own pace.
Counselling and Psychotherapy is not a quick fix. Most people find that they need to work with a counsellor or psychotherapist for some time to establish what the root of their distress might be.
This can be difficult and painful but eventually a healing and very rewarding journey, that can change your life and the way that you live it.
Counselling and Psychotherapy sessions are for 50 minutes, held on a weekly basis.
Day and evening appointments are available.
